Job Description

• 1. Implement the risk management program:
  • Promoting the quality of patient care, in collaboration with quality/performance improvement activities
  • Enhancing patient satisfaction, enhancing enviromental safety for patients, visitors and staff
  • Minimizing the frequency and severity of adverse events, minimizing financial lost
  • Educating stakeholders on emerging and known risk exposures and risk reduction initiatives
• 2. Evaluate the risk management program
  • Reviews and revises the risk management program at least biannually
  • Trends and analyzes risk management performance measures and report to appopriate department/individuals
  • Provide risk management information on doctors and nursing, and other healthcare practitioners
  • Administers and coordinates Performance Improvement Program
  • Performs monthly analysis of detail outage report to determine variances and resolutions
  • Prepares departmental operational budget
• 3. Appraisal, Education and Continuing Professional Development
  • Participate in own appraisal annually
  • Provide or faciliate orientation programs for all new employees and contracted staff, and other in
  • service and training programs
  • Coordiniate activities between risk and quality issues to enhance the identification and resolution of the two disciplines
• 4. Claims management
  • Reporting potentially compensable events, unexpected outcomes or patient complaint
  • Performing initial and ongoing investigations and interviews, documenting activities and correspondence related to
  • Coordinating activities with the defense teams and providing input into the strategy for each claim
  • Participate in establishing defense/settlement posture
  • Resolving claims within established limit of authority

Job Requirement

• First Medical/ /Pharmacy/Science Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-3 years progressively responsible experience in hospital risk management
• Sound knowledge of clinical risk and clinical effectiveness in a hospital
• Good planning and organisational abilities
• Good interpersonal/Communication Skill
• Excellent written communication skills in English
• Able to work on own initiative, maintain effectiveness and work well under pressure
